The traditional band played awesome music, driving with a subversive political message critical of both the US and Mexican govenments. (Some older American tourists I later happened upon at a bar told me they felt uncomfortable! Ha!)
The other two musicians were rock icons, who my friend told me were as revered as Lou Reed or Leonard Cohen, were as boring and tedious in concert as... Lou Reed or Leonard Cohen.
