But here's the real helpful hint. Skip Tuxtla Gutierrez altogether and spend an extra (cheaper) day in San Cristóbal de las Calles. A much, much better city just an hour and a half away.
Tuxtla, it seems, was created as a capitol city to govern Chiapas. San Cristóbal used to be it's capitol, but it got that taken away from it. Probably because it's a little less accessable.
Oh, about the bed bugs...
I've been blogging from my phone. I saw TWO tiny insects scurry across my illuminated screen! And felt some things on my arm and leg hair. A few bites that I noticed on my hands and I was more than a little concerned.
I slept in just my boxers for fear that they would get into all my travel clothes. Laundry the next day. But still!
I've been reading horror stories!
