Wow, a lot has happened in the past few months. Real quick, just some random stuff of the top of my head from where I left off...
My friend, Mark Jones wrote an interesting story back in March about the history of a streach of San Antonio road that I happen to currently live by. I was honored to do the illustration. Garcia's!
Luminaria? A very pleasant surprise.
Fiesta 2008... where San Antonio makes it's alcoholism public!
Crazy people dancing the freaky freak at the King William Fair 2008.
Illustration for the San Antonio Current's Fiesta issue.
Went to New Orleans with Rich and Raul to see the Spurs play the Hornets for Game One of the Western Semi-finals.
New Orleans? Sin City! With this group? Forget it.
We won this series. Some say it was voodoo vs. curandismo.
Another illustration for the San Antonio Current. This one was fun... Hemisfair!
... And so was their Very Vodka Party.
Went to Blue Star's Red Dot Show. (I'm talking art with this guy. Can't you tell???)
Had a show for South Flores' "Who Are the People in Your Neighborhood?" Event. Thanks to Andy Benavides.
Also thanks to Bolner's Meat Market, where my meat paintings were on display. Interesting things happening, around South Flores. Hmmmm.
Art openings at meat markets? Babies love it the best.
I was invited to be the featured artist for this year's San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. It wound up being a mini-branding opportunity, with invite, program and posters. And Powerpoint (!!!) I'm pleased with the final products.
I went to Willie Nelson's Fourth of July Picnic. Awesome time. Got to see Merle Haggard. (Finally.)
Yes, I'm mildly facinated by the country-music addicts and degenrates of the 70s and early 80s. They made the best music. I would like to live for a year as Hank Williams Jr. If you know me, I've probably made you listen to my rant...
No, that's not Merle and Willie. They don't dress like that.
Had my illustration used in last week's Current. Robocop! He went to Alamo Heights.
